We’ve had a crew sheathing the outside of the house for the last week. Here is the before and after of the front.
The crew works this as a second job, so they work on Saturday and afternoon on weekdays. For the neighbors, it is unfortunately noisy work, with the compressor constantly running the the nail guns sounding like automatic rifles.
Interestingly, in the above photos you can see the craftsman styling added as well. The look of the house is really starting to take shape. Next up is the front porch roof, one of the signature pieces of the craftsman look of the house.
The house is almost completely sheeted now, but we are still waiting for the synchrony of fire sprinklers, lighting, and then spray foam in the parts of the 2nd floor ceiling that will become inaccessible when we cover them with plywood, before we can dry in the roof.
Unfortunately, the roof being still open, we had about the worst storm yet, with 1.5 inches of water overnight, that is still pouring in everywhere; it took us a few hours to squeegee and pump the next day.
