As we just moved in, I’ve been delinquent in posting frequent updates to the progress. It’s been quite a few weeks of hard work.
Two weeks ago, the poured a new section of sidewalk and the bio-filtration basin walls.
Here they are in before being poured.
You can see the the bio-filtration basin walls are highly engineered, with lots of rebar, and quite thick.
The sidewalk on the other hand, is just a 4″ thick slab of concrete. Here they are poured.
The sidewalk is plain, uncolored concrete, but we did apply acid wash to it, to give it a textured look like older concrete, so it doesn’t stand out.
The cover the concrete with the acid wash, let it stand overnite, and power wash it off. Here is the finished look.
And here is the finished beast of a bio-filtration basin.
After back-fill, you can see that once we plant on the inside of it, it won’t stand out too much, as it is at dirt level.
