We moved in two weeks ago, about a week an a half after our original planned moving date. Unfortunately, for the first 10 days of living in the house, we had no kitchen or pantry. The kitchen was in disarray because of the remediation efforts from the plumbing leak. In the pantry, we found some fine cracks in the paint, which we also have in other areas.
The painters had to spackle the cracks and repaint. It was a joy to finally be able to put away all of our food and cookware, and actually cook a meal. Here are the pantry and kitchen now.
The kids love their rooms, and they all have new loft beds or bunk beds.
I thought of actually trying to take a picture of these rooms when they were clean, but that is almost never the case. Those of you with kids will understand.
The play room suffers a similar fate – a couple of weeks after move in, it looks quite lived in.
Moving from a smaller rental, to a larger, nicer house, and with some of our furniture ruined from the plumbing leak, we have some furniture shopping to do. Some of the house looks empty still, or has ill-fitting furniture, like the living room.
Lisa’s yoga studio is mostly empty by design, but it is looking pretty good.
The guest room is ready for guests!
The washer and dryer have hardly stopped operating since we moved in. We had a lot of stuff that had been in storage for the better part of 5 years.
The garage is full of stuff. Much of it belongs in the basement, most of which is waiting for the reconstruction after the plumbing leak.
We are happy to be in the house, but have a ways to go with a pick list of items that still needs to be done inside the house, quite a bit of furniture shopping to do, lots of pictures to hang, and all of the landscaping to complete. This journey will continue for a few more months.
