The old driveway to the house was part of a double driveway with our neighbors
To remove this, we had to move the curved and straight part of the curb over to the mouth of our neighbors driveway. These are made of sandstone and are massive, as they go an addition 12 or so inches under the dirt. Then, to fill in the gap where the old driveway was, they borrowed stole some of the curb from where the new drivewa mouth will be.
As you can see, this stuff can be crumbly. We’ve created a temporary (new) driveway mouth out of road base.
Here is the old driveway mouth now.
The gap in the curb is for the bio-filtration basin outlet. You can see the 3 1/2″ x 12″ cast iron pipe sticking out of the dirt. we need to pour that section and make it look like a sandstone curb.
