Despite the plumbing disaster, we are moving forward.  The mitigation specialists are hard at work now tearing out the drywall and insulation in the basement, and have sealed it off from the rest of the house.

We’ve brought in a load of stuff from our temporary rental, and have started unpacking the items we had been storing in the basement.

And today, we satisfied the last requirement necessary to get the temporary certificate of occupancy, the front steps and walkway.

With papers in hand, we can finally move in.

Lisa had some tears when the inspector gave us that.  It’s been a really long journey building this house.
