The last few bits of the shingles are being installed this week, and there are a few remaining railings to be installed. Now, for the most part, it is up to the painters. The shingles are all pre-painted, so they will only require touch-up where damaged or where they were cut, like this bottom edge.
Most of the window casing, other trim, and decorative elements (rafter tails, corbels, knee braces) are pained. What remains for the most part are the railings, eves, and siding.
With the siding, the color we originally chose didn’t look that good in our test.
It looks very grey. We’ve chosen a color more without our olive-y family and have done another test. New color is on the left and old on the right.
