Before we knew it would take 6+ years to design, permit, and build our new house, we thought it might be nice to have a room that would be appropriate for a live-in Au-per as we had just had our third child. We figured anyone in that position would appreciate having their own little kitchenette, so we included those on our plans.
But when push came to shove, and we wanted to be done with our project, we decided not to install the kitchenette at that time.
Enough time has passed now that we decided it was time to complete the kitchenette for what is now our basement guest room, and here it is, compliments of Ikea.
When in college, I lived in a studio apartment for 4 1/2 years that didn’t have this nice (or as big) of a kitchen.
At the same time, we added a little storage closet around the corner, as a basement linen closet.
