Water and gas lines trenched and laid last week. From the street:
Into the yard:
The lines direct both to the house and to the back yard behind the pool house. The yellow line on the left is the one running to the pool house and is bigger (4 inch line) than the one running to the main house (3″ line) because the pool house area is meant to serve both a pool heater and potentially a natural gas backup generator.
Here are the lines going into the house.
As you can see, the house water isn’t actually hooked up yet, they just put a hose big on it, so we can still have water to hose down dirt when digging, and water the transplanted palm trees.
Here are the lines running to behind the pool house.
Notice the metal tape running along the lines. These are to identify where the lines are burred.
There is a different color tape for each type of utility. I believe how it works is that, the tape has a metal backing so can be detected using a metal detector. That of itself won’t tell someone what type of utility is down there, but when digging, the color of the tape and the writing on it will identify the utility.
Next week we run plumbing and sewer for the pool house and outside shower.
