<\/p>\nThe cabinet makers have been here for a couple of weeks now doing the finishing in the cabinets.\u00a0 There is surprisingly a lot to do.<\/p>\n
– Adjust and level cabinet doors
\n– Install knobs and pulls
\n– Install cabinet class
\n– Install kick plates after flooring goes in<\/p>\n
Lisa spent weeks looking at knobs and pulls to find the best fit at the best price, and it is really paying off. They look great.<\/p>\n

All-in-all we’ve got somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 knobs and pulls all over the house.<\/p>\n
Two floors done, one to go.\u00a0 It is a long process.\u00a0 As part of the process, they find out what is missing or wrong.\u00a0 It is a pretty big project to install custom cabinets and paint them in place, and some things are bound to get done incorrectly, missed, or misplaced.<\/p>\n
– A panel for a panel ready appliance that is missing its center panel
\n– A kick plate painted the wrong color
\n– A missing drawer front that likely got misplaced in the cabinet painter’s shop
\n– Items we thought we ordered but didn’t<\/p>\n
As part of the process we have to build a list of what is wrong, have the missing pieces made, and then route everything to the cabinet painters for painting.<\/p>\n
We’ll need the cabinet painters back for one more round of touch-up to catch and miss-drills on the knobs and pulls (not many but they do happen) and to repair any cabinets damaged by other workers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
