Our old house was on the eastern side of our lot, and the driveway entrance on the western side.\u00a0 With the new house, and the local solar access ordinance, we could not build a two-story structure on the eastern (really north-eastern) side as it would block some of the sun from our neighbors lot, which isn’t allowed.\u00a0 So the house shifted to the south-western side and the driveway to the north-eastern side.\u00a0 Now we have to do all the work to move the driveway mouth, as well as repair the sidewalk that we damaged with heavy equipment.<\/p>\n

We basically have to tear out everything from past the sidewalk to 18″ into the street asphalt.\u00a0 While we have everything torn up, we will put in sleeves for irrigation and a couple of 3″ pipes for the drainage out of our bio-filtration basin.<\/p>\n

Of particular note are the sandstone curbs native to our area.\u00a0 Interestingly, look at the side of where our old driveway meets our neighbors.<\/p>\n
